Getpeek Folks,

Using computers since the early '80s, I consider myself a "geek" at the mature age of sixty-two but also a minimalist wanting to simplify my life while making it easier for my slightly lower-tech eighty-four year old father to communicate with me.

Since I dislike contracts, hidden charges, waiting in line or on the phone for service, paying for features we don't use such as video, games, MP3, GPS, TV, and rarely used voice, this is the perfect alternative. Great tactile feel, easy to type keys and bright, clear screen. This will make a great holiday gift for all my friends and relatives. I believe this will be a hit with millions of others wanting to avoid complex gadgets that are very difficult to see, operate and more likely to go belly up. Thanks!

Clint - No contracts, no credit checks. Just a flat monthly rate of $19.95 for unlimited email.

Robert - the Peek device will unfortunately not display Japanese characters when we launch in September. We'll be constantly adding new functionality and I've added this to the growing list. Thanks for stopping by to learn more about Peek.

I do a lot of emailing with customers in Japan. Will this allow me to view Japanese characters? Currently the only phone that does is the Iphone and I don't want to buy one. I am a current T-Mobile user. Thank you.

Andrew - The size limit for attachments that you can receive on the device is 10 MBs. The only attachment you can view are .jpegs - we actually do some nifty coding on the back to resize the image so it displays nicely on the color screen.

Tobias - yes indeed! You have it exactly right!

Tuan - by default no, but it's an extra feature that you can call up and ask for and we'll see what we can do!

Does it remain connected when not in use? What I mean is, can you quickly take it out and check/access email or do you have to go through a whole tiresome process like all of the rest of them? Thanks, and good luck.
