With the state of events $19.95 a month is out of bounds. WiFi is free almose everywhere. We all carry wireless laptops almost every where at no cost to get e-mails. The Peek is a great idea, lower the monthly price to something of $5.00 and sell millions.

@fredric & @ahii:

The Peek device is "SIM unlocked." I slapped an AT&T SIM in there in place of the provided T-Mobile SIM and it registered to the AT&T network (i.e. set the time and date, and showed full signal). However, there's no configuration option to change the wireless data settings.

Frankly, I can see two situations under which the ability to change wireless data access points are useful:

1) Using your own SIM for data access where Peek doesn't work (i.e. you're traveling, or you live outside the US or T-Mobile's coverage area).

2) L33t h4x0ring (hacking the device, as Peek requests we do), so as to not run up Peek's data charges.

Based on comments from Peek, I highly doubt there's even a hidden setting to change this. It's likely hard-coded into the Peek firmware and can't be user-modified. This isn't out of malice from the devs; instead, it's to keep things simple. Why would the Peek's target audience ever care about an APN or even know to set it?

I'm trying to figure out how to code for this pretty device, so maybe there will be options soon, especially if the API rolls out. :)

Few things:
1) the graphics you are using on the right panel are very low resolution and pixelated.
2) how about a search box so people can find things
3) do you plan on realeasing for Canada?

thanks

I don't wish to sound ungrateful, but, what about those of us who are Peek users and evangelists of the technology daily?

Granted, there is the free month with every friend that you sign up. But this 'deal' just rubs me the wrong way. I love the Peek. I advocate the Peek daily. I sign someone up and get a free month. Someone that doesn't even use the Peek signs someone up and gets up to $150!

$20.00 referral for a Peek subscriber... up to a $150.00 referral for a non-Peek subscriber?!?!

I'm sorry... but this deal just isn't right!

This is a very good concept.

I'm from Canada. I use a Blackberry but 99.5% of the time is for email only. The plans are very bad for BB because I need to have a voice plan and connection fees and other crap the carriers are forcing me to take in order to have unimied email only. Any $15/month unlimited email advertised in Canada for a smart hone should read at least $50/month.

BB used to be an email only device (no great plans even at that time). I run a small company. I would definitely buy this for all my employees. At this point a BB for everybody is really wasting money.

I really hope it will catch and you expand to Canada?
